The First Sign of Freedom: Swallows in the Spring
Growing up in Finland, my favorite time of year was spring. As the snow melted, it revealed brown, lifeless grass that would soon turn green, dotted with bright yellow buttercups—nature’s first sign that summer was coming. But the moment I knew the long-awaited season had arrived was when the swallows returned from their winter in Africa.I would eagerly watch the skies, my father joining in the anticipation. The first sighting of those graceful birds brought a rush of joy—summer had arrived! Soon, I’d be roaming free with my friends, exploring the countryside, swimming in the cool lake, and filling my stomach with wild berries. It was a time of pure freedom—a feeling I’ve come to realize is one of my deepest values.
Coaching as a Journey—You Set the Course, I Fly Beside You
In recent years, I’ve reconnected with that sense of freedom and joy, allowing it to guide my decisions and shape my coaching approach. Just like those swallows, I believe we all have the power to return to what truly lights us up. And yet, even the most instinctive flyers don’t journey alone.
That’s why my logo features not just one swallow, but a second one in its shadow—symbolizing the coaching partnership. In coaching, you set the direction, just like a swallow instinctively knows where to go. As your coach, I am the steady presence flying alongside you—not to lead or tell you where to go, but to ask the right questions, offer fresh perspectives, and help you navigate your path with confidence.
